Entering the topic of Link Fragmentation Tools on QoS OECG…
I was curious about if LFI could be enabled on higher-speed links that have lower serialization delay. I understand that for low speed links, serialization delay is higher and therefore, you gain more benefit than from higher-speed links. Also, I understand that router load increase if LFI is enabled on higher-speed links due to serialization delay dropping. If you have purchased a more modern router (2800, 3800, 2900, 3900), does it matter if LFI is/can be enabled on higher-speed links like a DS3?
I ask because the book gives low quantities of speed for simplicity purposes. Is it possible that we do not enable LFI on higher-speed links because the returns are not fantastic? The result of lower serialization delay might not even been worth it to enable LFI on higher speed links. Any knowledge of results would be greatly appreciated.
