Is it possible to connect to catalyst’s interfaces in different vlan?

Hello,

Is it possible to connect two catalyst’s interfaces peer-to-peer on different vlans.

I mean:

SWITCH_A(fa1/1)<——–>(fa1/2)SWITCH_B

Can we do this without trunking?

interface fa1/1

switchport access vlan 300

switchport mode access

interface fa1/2

switchport access vlan 200

switchport mode access

How will be the STP behavior? the interfaces will come up?. any issue?

Best regards,

Ronald
