I have a question about how loop guard detects that failure has caused only the unidirectional link failure not wholelink is down.
As per STP, switch considers neighbor UP till it receives BPDU from neighbor. In case of unidirectional link failure, switch does not receive BPDU from neighbor and it should consider the neighbor dead.
1) But, this is not the scenario in Loop Guard. Could you please explain how loop guard detects if it is only unidirectional link failure or bi directional?
2) Does loop guard play any role, when whole link goes down?
