Hi everyone, I have one quesion for Switch own MAC.
Could any one here to clarify below ponits:
1.Does every port of a Switch has its own unique MAC address?
2.If item 1 is true, concidering host 1 is connected with SW1 via F0/1, host 2 is connected with SW1 via F0/2. What would happen if Host 1 send out a Frame with MAC destination address of host 2?(Given the fact f0/1 has its own MAC address, so it could be assumed that MAC of f0/1 would filter this Frame due DA of MAC on Frame is not F0/1′s) I try to review the profile on learning/flood stageof Bridge, it seems like there is no description of port mac address. Bridge simply receive Frame via Ethernet and take action to follow up such like check MAC table.
Thanks in advance.
Best Regards,
Kevin
