Cisco CCIE books – We all know reading technology books can be painful, especially CiscoPress but will also know it’s essential if you plan to meet the requirements of the Cisco CCIE lab exam. Personally, I use CiscoPress but there are many good authors than are not published by CiscoPress books.

This book has 14 chapters including but not limited to technologies such as Routing Basics and Concepts, RIP, EIGRP, OSPF, IS-IS, Route Redistribution, Route Control, On-Demand Routing, Route Filtering and Route-Maps.
This is a challenging book providing the reader with an in-depth understanding of the technologies.
IP Routing – Volume 2 by Jeff Doyle & Jennifer DeHaven
This book has 9 chapters including but not limited to technologies such as EGP, BGP, NAT, IP Multicast, IPv6 and Router Management.
This is also a challenging book providing the reader with an in-depth understanding of the technologies with nearly 300 pages dedicated to BGP.
CCIE Routing & Switching – Certification Guide (Fourth Edition)
Author: Wendell Odom, Rus Healy, Denise Donohue
This book has 20 chapters and covers all technologies in the CCIE R&S Written Exam.
I am not going to tell you that this book with just over 1000 pages provides the reader with the knowledge and a deep understanding of the technologies required to pass the lab exam or that it is the only book you’ll ever need; that would be an misrepresentation of the book. However, this book, for many other reasons, is still a good book and I use it regularly as a very useful quick reference guide.
