Nicholas and I must be connected some how, or its a very very big world.
I too passed my CCIE v4.0 Written this afternoon. I entered at 1:00pm EST and finished at 1:55pmEST.
What a relief. I entered it preparing for 90-110 questions and I was presented with 77 questions and had 120 minutes to take it.
I was thrown questions from every section that you have read and studied about as usual so exect a very wide range.
I should have expected the 1 question(multiple parts) that I encountered when I took my CCNP two years ago but nothing I read lead me to this.
No worries though, you either know it or you don’t thats what these certs should be about…not cramming and memorizing
I was still worried none the less. This may be trivial for some preparing or passed their lab but for many its a beginning, both mentally and cert path-wise.
I was torn when I began my studies 4 months ago. Should I prepare like I was taking the lab and I’ll learn the book knowledge along the way to pass written, or should I buckle down and just study material, books, blogs, articles, IEEE specs…. Well after about 2 months of flip flopping I decided to just focus on book knowledge and industry experience to make it this far.
The lab throws non-industry things at you so I took that into account in preparing for the written. The written is not the same preparation as the lab so if you’re attempting hurdle 1 of 2 then focus on book knowledge (hands on experience goes along way too though).
Thanks to everyone on this forum for their contributions and words of wisdom. Onward to the labs.
Hopefully I’ll be ready before Cisco changes the Lab…….again.!!!
