After reviewing personal stories from nearly 600 CCIE candidates from around the globe, I am pleased to announce the recipients of this year’s “CCIE Santa” giveaway. I’d also like to thank my staff for assisting in the review of these submissions – we spent the last 2 days in the office until at least 3 AM. Matt, Neil and Sean – I couldn’t have done it without your assistance – thank you!
Faced with so many submissions – far more than we expected – selecting gift recipients became quite a challenge! We decided to create a list of varying criteria that we would like to award gifts to, then select a couple individuals that fit into each criteria.
I have decided not to disclose all of the categories we used for the selection process and I will not indicate which of the recipients fell into each category. That should prevent a chorus of others saying, “I deserved it more than that person…” which should not be the spirit of the season.
Some of the selection criteria categories included financial hardship of self-funded CCIE pursuit, economically challenged countries / territories (different dollar values and income levels in various countries, etc.), military service, dedication to sticking to a personal goal or dream and personal / family-related issues or hardships. If I could, I would have awarded everyone with these freebies, however – as you can hopefully understand – that wasn’t possible. I do want to say – that we will be continuing various offers like this on a quarterly basis. I encourage EVERYONE to continue following our blog, our twitters and our Facebook groups for additional contests and offers! Again, I want to thank everyone for following and participating!
