OK team,
As I mentioned a while back, I’ve just begun an (early) hiatus from work. I’ll be building my CCIE lab to match the INE topology (http://www.ine.com/topology.htm). I just finished my Wireshark Certified Network Analyst (WCNA) exam last week, so now I can properly focus on working toward my CCIE. The goal is to also use this lab to finish my CCNP(R/S) over the next few months as well.
So my main inquiries to the board today is with regard to server/switch racks for mounting, powering, and cooling the gear. I found an INE-based lab on ebay (search Item # 230581256338). I believe that this lab should satisfy my needs, although I may need the original TWO 3560′s and TWO 1841s (anyone have an opinion on that?). So since I’ve not provisioned racks for Cisco gear in the past, I’d sure love any guidance anyone could offer with respect to that. I don’t know how wide or deep the cabinets should be (I was thinking at least 20U though), or if maybe I should just get open racks? I also would like the built-in power strips and I need to figure out the power requirements. Thanks in advance to anyone who can let me know what questions I should be asking myself and addressing to get this properly setup.
