I have a question regarding CCIE for my friend’s brother. He has a CCNA certification and is going to appear in CCNP exam soon. He does not have industry experience i.e. is a fresher. He is next thinking of applying for jobs and concurrently enroll in 5 month professional training for CCIE exam in routing/switching track( I assume there are companies who provide training for CCIE exam) . My questions are -
o Is it realistic to expect getting CCIE certification just based on professional training and CCNA/CCNP knowledge but no related job experience? or would it be waste of money to try CCIE certification at this stage?
o generally how long does it take to get CCIE certification( asusming person is alrady CCNA/CCNP)? I guess it will depend on industry experience and of course on the person. I am just looking for ballpark number.
o How valuable is a CCIE certification with no job experience? I looked at some relevant job postings and almost all of them have a list of technical requirements and additionally say “CCNA/CCNP/CCIE is preferred”.
