CCIE Bootcamp – UK, India, USA, China

A Cisco CCIE bootcamp held in a classroom are fantastic courses and will normally meet your expectations in many ways but only if you are fully prepared. Preparation is key or your might get lost in the technologies as the course pace is fast. All students are expected to know the blueprint technologies before attending as there isn’t time in the schedule for covering the basics. A major benefit of the bootcamp is the in-depth technical training which is normally led by an experienced instructor who will most proberly be CCIE certified. The training is  normally between 5 days and 12 day in length and will only focus on the technologies as defined in the CCIE lab blueprint. The  focus on the blueprint material really concentrates the mind and the overall learning experience eliminates distractions of home or work life. You will eat and breath the CCIE blueprint during the course.

Another benefit of classroom training is meeting like-minded engineers who are also pursuing a CCIE certification. Someone once said to me “that studying for the CCIE lab exam is a lonely road that very few people can understand. This is not because its rocket science or brain surgery, but trying to share or explain the details of route redistribution to your wife or friends is a sure way to end the night early. This is mainly our passion and it?s taken many years of hands-on experience before you even consider yourself a viable CCIE candidate”.

Here is my list of training companies. If you know of other CCIE training providers, let me know by providing feedback on this page.

No responsiblily is taken for the quality of the the training providers or their material.

A few other observations

Choose your classroom training to align with your workbooks. Ideally, you should have finished most if not all of a workbook  before attending the classroom. However, this is not always necessary but depends on your ability and technical level.

If you have been looking or attended a CCIE camp training course in UK, India, China, USA, ASPAC; we need your feedback. Simply, add a comment to this post.

  1. Hi all,

I attended the INE Boot-camp and was disappointed. Some of the blame for my disappointment was solely my own fault as I was not prepared enough; the fast pace of the class left me and others wondering what had happened. I also might have expected too much from a 12 Boot-camp and possibly overestimated the ability of the instructor. That’s my part of this issue…The main issue I had with INE boot camp relates to the fact that the course is designed for students who are nearly ready and 2 or 3 weeks away from taking the lab exam. During my experience, most if not all the students who attended were not ready to pass the CCIE lab exam and either naively mistakenly booked the course or worse, were fooled into believing they were close enough. As most students didn?t have enough technical know-how, the course was fairly painful and because the pace was so fast, most students didn?t have enough time to fully understand what was being presented by the instructor. That wasn?t a major problem in comparison to the instructor who didn?t really engage the students at the right level nor did he adjust the course for the audience in front of him. Most students spent the whole time trying to catch-up before the next day as the instructor had a keep to a time table. 12 days was not enough for most students. Do not underestimate the Boot-camp requirements but if you have the technical knowledge and practiced Volume 1 & 2 workbooks, it will definitely test you.

This may appear damming to INE but it isn?t really (except students do expect more from their instructors). If the students really did meet the prerequisites, then everyone would be happy as the course is designed for students who know the technology but need to work on speed, strategy and fine-tuning. I would not attend another boot camp from INE based on my own experience as I was not ready and shouldn?t have been on the course at such an early stage in my preparation but I would be interested to know if I would feel any different now after all my training.

  2. Hi John,

Did you attend the Bootcamp in UK ? I have purchased the bootcamp but haven’t attended yet, the main reason for me going with INE was because their material vol1 vol2 workbooks are so good. Bit disappointed that your not rating the bootcamp, now I’m think I may have to ask for a refund. Was the instructor really that bad ??

  3. Hi,

I recently spent many hours trying to find a CCIE training company in India. I spoke to many companies before finally creating a short list of training providers. I really grilled these guys to the point of asking to speak to the instructor, verified their CCIE numbers and asked for references. All trainers offered-up the information but the results did scare me a bit. I won?t mention names but one company offered the prefect training package but forgot to mention that the instructors were NOT CCIE certified. I know I want a CCIE certified instructor!!!

The final list I created which included certified CCIE instructors, verified student references were:

Netmetric Solutions – I now know these guys are CCIE legends with their own published workbooks.

Networkshome – I really liked these guys and I think their training program is well structured.

NetExpertsIndia – Good response from these guys.

After speaking to all three of these companies I was felt confident in each one and then struggled to finally choose one for my training. I eventually decided to attend Netmetric Solutions due to their pedigree and long established presence in the CCIE training community.

  4. Hi RR

Sorry, I didn?t mean to worry you, I was only being honest and I’ll clarify a bit more…

When I attended the bootcamp in the UK, I was not ready as I hadn?t prepared enough. Honestly, I didn?t know it at the time, it was only afterwards that I realised how weak I was in some of the technologies. The key to success is to know your technologies before attending as the bootcamp isn?t really designed to spend much time on the basics. You are expected to know and understand the basics of the technologies so the instructor can get down to the nuts and bolts quickly without impacting the other students. The pace of the bootcamp is fast and you will feel the pressure throughout the 12 days. I spent the evenings catching-up on the technology covered during the day as we generally moved onto the next subject the following morning. This course isn?t designed for students who need to learn the technology; I suppose that is why Volume 1 and 3 were created by INE.

As you can re-attend the bootcamp at a later date for free, you will not lose anything other than your confidence. I am smiling as I write that bit :)

INE are a good company and their workbooks are awesome but I think the bootcamp needs more work as it didn?t meet my expectations. I made the mistake of overestimating my abilities and struggled throughout the 12 days. Some comfort for me was that some of the other students struggled more and their mock exam results were far from what I would expect from students who are 2-3 weeks away from attempting their lab exam.

    I hope it help!!

  6. I attended the Netmetric bootcamp in India and was surprised by the low quality facilities and infrastructure in and around the Netmetric offices. The course itself was okay but didn?t really challenged me enough. I know this was because of the other students. There were students on the CCIE bootcamp who didn?t know or understand the basic’s such as switching. This caused a few problems at first but i soon realised that i need to get something out of the course so started asking decent questions. The instructor was good as he was able to meet my technical needs while also assisting the other students who didn?t understand. I would recommend Netmetric for an all round course that will take you through the technologies needed in order to pass a CCIE lab exam.

    My tips for India:

Travellers Cheques were not accepted by anyone including 5 star hotels. This say they are but when your try to cash-in a cheque, they say “No”

Eat only in quality restaurants and hotels

Make sure your hotel is near the training facilities as you will need a toilet and the hotel is best!!

I was very disappointed with this “Bootcamp”. I was given some non Koenig labs and sat in a room. There was a guy there to answer questions, but this is essentially self study. There is no point in attending this “course”. You can do the same at home.

  8. Hi Claire

Sorry to here your training experience was poor. I also contacted Koenig and was initially very impressed by their training course. However, this all changed when I asked to speak to the instructor to confirm their CCIE status. Surprisingly, they didn’t have a CCIE Lab certified instructor at that time but did tell me that all instructors were CCIE written qualified. Must be very annoying that they didn?t provide decent study material!
